Las Animas

Club de Deportes Las Ánimas, is a Chilean sports club based in the city of Valdivia, Los Ríos Region. The club was founded on Octubre 4, 1942, and took its name from the Las Ánimas neighborhood, located at the north side of the city.

The basketball branch is the most important of the club; boxing, table tennis, & amateur football being the other ones. The football branch played at the third level league between 1994 and 1996.

Their Liga Nacional home games are played at the Coliseo Antonio Azurmendy , also playing some of the Liga Saesa games at the Las Ánimas gym.

Las Ánimas is een Chileense basketbalclub uit Valdivia. De club is opgericht op 14 april 1940 en speelt in de Liga Nacional de Básquetbol (LNB), de hoogste basketbaldivisie van Chili. Las Ánimas heeft 14 keer het Chileense kampioenschap gewonnen, meer dan enige andere club in het land. De club heeft ook 6 keer de Copa Chile gewonnen, de nationale bekercompetitie.

Las Ánimas staat bekend om zijn sterke jeugdopleiding, die een aantal van de beste Chileense basketballers aller tijden heeft voortgebracht. Enkele van de meest bekende spelers die voor Las Ánimas hebben gespeeld zijn:

Las Ánimas speelt zijn thuiswedstrijden in het Coliseo Monumental María Gallardo in Valdivia. De capaciteit van de arena is 4.000 toeschouwers.
