Den Amstel FC

The Elite League, often referred to as GFF Elite League, is the top level of the football system in Guyana. Contested by 10 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation. Top level before GFF Elite League was GFF National Super League.

The competition was formed as the Stag Elite League in 2015 following a hiatus for the 2014-15 season. Its inaugural season consisted of 8 of the 11 FIFA licensed teams from Guyana. The league expanded to 10 teams for its second season, but four teams pulled out before the season began.

Den Amstel FC, officieel bekend als SV Den Amstel, is een Surinaamse voetbalclub uit Amstelveen, een plaats in het district Commewijne. De club, die in 1925 werd opgericht, komt uit in de SVB Eerste Klasse, de hoogste voetbaldivisie van Suriname.

Den Amstel FC heeft een rijke historie en heeft verschillende nationale titels gewonnen, waaronder het Surinaams kampioenschap in 1955, 1956, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977 en 2015. Ook won de club verschillende bekers, waaronder de Surinaamse beker in 1998, 1999, 2002, 2014 en 2018.

De club staat bekend om zijn aanvallende speelstijl en heeft verschillende talentvolle spelers voortgebracht, waaronder Ruud Gullit en Edgar Davids. Den Amstel FC speelt zijn thuiswedstrijden in het André Kamperveenstadion in Paramaribo.
