Banjul United

Banjul United Football Club is a football club from Banjul in the West African, state of Gambia. They played in the GFA League First Division during the 2010 season, which is the highest league in Gambian football. They currently play in the GFA League Second Division in 2014. It is one of Banjul's newest sporting club. And their only title till date was the 2013/2014 GFF cup when they bet Hawks 1-0 in the final.

Banjul United is een Gambiaanse voetbalclub uit Banjul. De club komt uit in de GFA League First Division, de hoogste voetbaldivisie van Gambia. Banjul United is een van de succesvolste clubs van Gambia, met 12 landstitels en 13 bekerzeges. De clubkleuren zijn groen en wit.

Banjul United werd in 1968 opgericht als Wallidan FC. In 1970 werd de naam veranderd in Banjul United. De club won zijn eerste landstitel in 1972. In de jaren 80 en 90 was Banjul United een van de dominante clubs in Gambia, met 6 landstitels en 5 bekerzeges.

In de afgelopen jaren is Banjul United minder succesvol geweest. De club won zijn laatste landstitel in 2003 en zijn laatste bekerzege in 2009. Desondanks blijft Banjul United een van de meest populaire clubs van Gambia.

Banjul United speelt zijn thuiswedstrijden in het Independence Stadium in Banjul. Het stadion heeft een capaciteit van 15.000 toeschouwers.
