Elana Toruń is a Polish football club based in Toruń. It competes in the III liga, 4th tier of the Polish football league system.

History

Stadion Miejski im. Grzegorza Duneckiego in Toruń

The team was at the 2nd level of the Polish pyramid in the 1990s, but were relegated in 1998/99. During the following season the club changed their name to TKP Torun, but they were relegated again to the 4th level. The club were often referred to as Torunski KP, but by the 2007/08 season they had returned to their original name of Elana Torun and were back playing on the Polish 3rd level. During the 2021–22 season, the club declared bankruptcy and withdrew from the III liga. The reserve team continued playing in the Liga okręgowa, securing promotion to the IV liga, and became the new first team since the 2022–23 season.

Elana Toruń is een Poolse voetbalclub uit Toruń. De club werd opgericht in 1933 en speelt zijn thuiswedstrijden in het Stadion Miejski im. Grzegorza Duneckiego. Elana Toruń komt uit in de II liga, het derde niveau in Polen.

De club beleefde zijn hoogtepunt in de jaren 80, toen het uitkwam in de Ekstraklasa, de hoogste divisie in Polen. Elana Toruń speelde in totaal drie seizoenen in de Ekstraklasa, van 1984 tot 1986. In 1985 won de club de Poolse beker.

Na de jaren 80 ging het bergafwaarts met Elana Toruń. De club degradeerde in 1986 naar de II liga en speelde daarna nog een aantal seizoenen in de III liga. In 2007 promoveerde Elana Toruń weer naar de II liga, waar het sindsdien uitkomt.

De bekendste speler die ooit voor Elana Toruń heeft gespeeld, is Grzegorz Dunecki. Dunecki was een Poolse international en speelde van 1982 tot 1986 voor Elana Toruń. Na zijn carrière als speler werd Dunecki trainer van Elana Toruń. Hij overleed in 2002 aan een hartaanval.

Het stadion van Elana Toruń, het Stadion Miejski im. Grzegorza Duneckiego, werd in 2006 gebouwd. Het stadion heeft een capaciteit van 4.482 plaatsen.
