**Geschiedenis:**

De Bangalore Independents zijn een van de oudste voetbalclubs in India. De club werd opgericht in 1890 en is gevestigd in de stad Bangalore. De Independents zijn een van de meest succesvolle clubs in de geschiedenis van het Indiase voetbal, met 11 nationale kampioenschappen op hun naam. De club heeft ook de Durand Cup, de oudste voetbalcompetitie in Azië, 10 keer gewonnen.

**Huidige situatie:**

De Bangalore Independents spelen momenteel in de I-League, de hoogste divisie van het Indiase voetbal. De club heeft een aantal van de beste spelers van India in zijn gelederen, waaronder Sunil Chhetri, de aanvoerder van het nationale team. De Independents zijn een van de favorieten voor de titel van de I-League en hopen hun eerste kampioenschap sinds 2007 te winnen.
