Libertad

Club Deportivo Libertad (usually called simply Libertad or Libertad de Sunchales) is a sports club from Argentina, with homebase in the Sunchales city of Santa Fe Province. The club is better known for both its association football and basketball teams.

Apart from those sports, other disciplines hosted by Libertad are bocce, equestrianism, karate, roller skating, tennis, and volleyball.

Het Argentijnse basketbalteam "Libertad" is een professioneel basketbalteam gevestigd in Sunchales, Santa Fe. Het team speelt in de Liga Nacional de Básquet (LNB), de hoogste basketbaldivisie in Argentinië. Libertad is opgericht in 1917 en heeft zijn thuisbasis in het Estadio "El Hogar de los Tigres".

Het team heeft in de loop der jaren veel succes gehad en heeft verschillende nationale titels gewonnen, waaronder drie kampioenschappen in 2008, 2010 en 2016. Libertad staat bekend om zijn offensieve spel en heeft een aantal getalenteerde spelers in de gelederen, waaronder Nicolás Laprovíttola, Marcos Mata en Mateo Bolívar.

In de LNB staat Libertad bekend als een van de topteams en heeft het altijd meegedaan om de titel. De afgelopen jaren heeft het team ook goed gepresteerd in internationale competities, waaronder de Liga Sudamericana de Básquetbol en de Basketball Champions League Americas.

Libertad wordt beschouwd als een van de meest succesvolle en gerespecteerde basketbalteams in Argentinië en heeft een trouwe aanhang van fans die bekend staan als "los Tigres" (De Tijgers).
