Het Northwood University Timberwolves basketbalteam vertegenwoordigt de Northwood University in intercollegiate basketbalcompetities. De Timberwolves zijn lid van de Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) van de NCAA Divisie II. Ze spelen hun thuiswedstrijden in de Riepe Arena, die plaats biedt aan 1.500 toeschouwers.

De Timberwolves zijn opgericht in 1959 en hebben een rijke basketbalhistorie. Ze hebben 22 GLIAC-conferentiekampioenschappen gewonnen en hebben 13 keer deelgenomen aan het NCAA Divisie II-toernooi. Ze hebben ook een nationaal kampioenschap gewonnen in 1974.

Enkele van de meest opmerkelijke spelers die voor de Timberwolves hebben gespeeld, zijn:

* Glen Rice: tweevoudig NBA-kampioen met de Los Angeles Lakers en Miami Heat
* Chris Webber: voormalig Rookie of the Year van de NBA en vijfvoudig NBA All-Star
* Jason Maxiell: NBA-kampioen met de Dallas Mavericks
* Courtney Lee: huidige NBA-speler voor de New York Knicks

De Timberwolves worden momenteel gecoacht door Rollie Thiele, die sinds 2013 de hoofdcoach is. Thiele heeft de Timberwolves naar meerdere GLIAC-kampioenschappen en toernooiroverwinningen geleid en is een van de meest succesvolle coaches in de programmageschiedenis.
