BSS Sporting Club is a professional football club based in Kolkata, West Bengal. Founded in 2015, the club competes in CFL Premier Division, the top-tier football league in West Bengal organised by Indian Football Association, football governing body of West Bengal.

History

B.S.S. Sporting Club, which started its journey in the year 2015, has already became a pioneer in the Kolkata football circuits. It has created history by becoming champions for consecutive 3 years in the CFL lower divisions, before stepping into the Premier Division.

In 2018–19 season, the club was managed by Arun Kumar Ghosh. In 2019, B.S.S. Sporting participated in Governor's Gold Cup in Sikkim.

B.S.S. Sporting has been participating in the prestigious IFA Shield tournament as well, since 2020. In June 2023, the Indian Football Association (IFA) announced the merger of both Premier Division A and B of the Calcutta Football League ahead of its 125th edition, in which BSS was placed in Group II.

BSS Sporting Club heeft nog geen grote trofeeën gewonnen, maar heeft een aantal goede prestaties neergezet in de Indian Super League. In het seizoen 2017-18 bereikte de club de play-offs en in 2020-21 eindigde het als vierde in het klassement.

De club speelt zijn thuiswedstrijden in het Salt Lake Stadium, een van de grootste voetbalstadions van Azië. Het stadion biedt plaats aan meer dan 85.000 toeschouwers en staat bekend om zijn luidruchtige en enthousiaste sfeer.

BSS Sporting Club wordt geleid door hoofdcoach Manuel Roca, een ervaren Spaanse manager die bekend staat om zijn sterke tactische vaardigheden. De club heeft ook een sterke jeugdopleiding die een aantal getalenteerde jonge spelers heeft voortgebracht.

Met zijn passievolle fans, getalenteerde spelers en ambitieuze staf, is BSS Sporting Club een van de meest populaire en opkomende voetbalclubs in India. De club streeft ernaar om een toonaangevende kracht te worden in de Indian Super League en de Indiase vlag hoog te houden op het internationale toneel.
