Wikipedia - FEU Tamaraws
The FEU Tamaraws are the varsity teams of Far Eastern University in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The collegiate women's varsity teams are called the Lady Tamaraws, while the high school varsity teams are called the Baby Tamaraws.
History
Far Eastern University was one of the founding members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) of the Philippines in 1924. The team participated in the NCAA Philippines in 1929, then eventually withdrew in 1935 to join the Big 3 League composed of the universities which left the NCAA in 1932. Far Eastern University together with the University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, and National University founded the University Athletic Association of the Philippines in 1938. FEU offers varsity sports in basketball (5x5 and 3x3), volleyball, beach volleyball, football, futsal, badminton, tennis, swimming, taekwondo, table tennis, chess, softball, fencing, and track & field.
**Geschiedenis:**
Het team werd opgericht in 1928 en heeft sindsdien een rijke geschiedenis opgebouwd. De Tamaraws hebben 24 UAAP-kampioenschappen gewonnen, wat hen tot een van de meest succesvolle teams in de geschiedenis van de competitie maakt.
**Huidige team:**
Het huidige team bestaat uit een getalenteerde groep spelers onder leiding van coach Kenneth Co. De sterspelers van het team zijn onder meer aanvoerder Jovanie Simpron, middenvelder Patrick Montemayor en spits Mike Asong.
**Speelstijl:**
De Tamaraws staan bekend om hun aanvallende stijl van spelen. Ze spelen met een hoge energie en druk hun tegenstanders constant om kansen te creëren. Hun kracht ligt in hun snelle passing, technische vaardigheden en vermogen om goals te maken.
**Prestaties:**
De Tamaraws hebben in de afgelopen jaren consistent gescoord. Ze zijn de laatste vier seizoenen in de finale van de UAAP geweest en hebben in 2019 en 2020 het kampioenschap gewonnen.
**Toekomst:**
Met een getalenteerde groep spelers en een ervaren coach zijn de Tamaraws vastbesloten om hun succes voort te zetten. Ze zijn een van de topfavorieten om het komende UAAP-seizoen te winnen en hun positie als een van de beste voetbalteams in de Filipijnen te consolideren.
