The ProA is the second-tier league of professional club basketball in Germany. The league comprises 16 teams. Officially the ProA is part of the 2. Basketball Bundesliga, which consists of the two hierarchical leagues ProA and ProB. Before the 2007–08 season, the 2. Basketball Bundesliga was a basketball league with the same name, which consisted of two geographical divisions. At the end of the league stage, the top two teams qualify for the Basketball Bundesliga, and the teams positioned 15th and 16th are relegated to the lower league, ProB.

**Duitsland - Pro A**

De easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga, ook bekend als de Pro A, is de hoogste basketbalcompetitie in Duitsland. Opgericht in 1966, bestaat de competitie uit 18 teams die strijden om het Duitse kampioenschap.

De Pro A staat bekend om zijn fysieke spel en vaardigheid. Enkele opvallende spelers die in de competitie hebben gespeeld, zijn Dirk Nowitzki, Dennis Schröder en Daniel Theis.

Elk seizoen bestaat uit een reguliere competitie van 34 wedstrijden, gevolgd door play-offs tussen de beste acht teams. De kampioen van de Pro A verdient een plek in de EuroLeague, de topclubcompetitie van Europa.
