Wikipedia - Big V

The Big V is a semi-professional basketball league in Victoria, Australia, comprising both a men's and women's competition.

History

The Big V Conference was established in 2000 and joined the Australian Basketball Association (ABA). The ABA ceased operations following the 2008 season, resulting in the Big V becoming independent.

The 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As of 2024, the league's premier divisions are Championship Men and Championship Women. The Big V also has Division One and Division Two as well as a number of youth divisions.

Australië - Big V

De Big V is een basketbalcompetitie in de Australische staat Victoria. De competitie is opgericht in 1999 en bestaat uit zes divisies, met teams van over de hele staat. De hoogste divisie, Division 1, is een semi-professionele competitie met 10 teams.

De Big V is een van de sterkste basketbalcompetities in Australië en heeft een aantal van de beste spelers van het land voortgebracht, waaronder NBA-ster Ben Simmons. De competitie is ook een belangrijke kweekvijver voor jong talent, met veel spelers die doorstromen naar de nationale teams van Australië.

De Big V wordt gespeeld van april tot september, met een reguliere competitie gevolgd door een play-off-serie. De winnaar van de play-offs wordt gekroond tot kampioen van de Big V.
