Wikipedia - Primera División (Peru)

De Primera División Peruana (Peruviaanse Eerste Divisie) is de hoogste voetbalcompetitie in het Zuid-Amerikaanse Peru. De officiële naam is vanwege sponsorcontracten Liga 1 Betsson. De competitie, georganiseerd door de Federación Peruana de Fútbol, is opgericht in 1912 en telt 19 teams.

La Liga 1, voorheen bekend als de Campeonato Descentralizado, is de hoogste professionele voetbalcompetitie in Peru. De competitie werd opgericht in 1966 en de huidige kampioen is Alianza Lima.

Liga 1 bestaat uit 18 teams die in twee toernooien spelen: het Apertura-toernooi en het Clausura-toernooi. De winnaars van elk toernooi komen in aanmerking voor de nationale eindstrijd, waar de kampioen van Peru wordt gekroond.

Enkele van de bekendste teams in Liga 1 zijn Alianza Lima, Universitario de Deportes, Sporting Cristal en FBC Melgar. De competitie is bekend om zijn felle rivaliteit en gepassioneerde fans.

De winnaar van Liga 1 kwalificeert zich voor de Copa Libertadores, de belangrijkste internationale clubcompetitie in Zuid-Amerika. De andere hoogst geklasseerde teams kwalificeren zich voor de Copa Sudamericana, de tweede belangrijkste internationale clubcompetitie in Zuid-Amerika.
