Wikipedia - Slovak Basketball League

The Slovenská Basketbalová Liga (SBL) (English: Slovak Basketball League) is the highest level tier league of men's professional club basketball in Slovakia. The league was founded in 1993. MBK Pezinok is the league's most successful team, having won a league record 9 championships. Before 2014, the league was named the Extraliga.

**Slowakije - Extraliga**

De Slowakije Extraliga is de hoogste basketbalcompetitie in Slowakije. De competitie werd opgericht in 1993 en bestaat uit 12 teams. De clubs spelen een reguliere competitie met dubbele ontmoetingen, gevolgd door play-offs. De beste zes teams plaatsen zich voor de play-offs, waarbij de winnaar van de finale tot kampioen wordt gekroond.

De meest succesvolle club in de Extraliga is BC Prievidza, dat de titel 12 keer heeft gewonnen. Regerend kampioen is BC Inter Bratislava.

De Extraliga staat bekend om zijn fysieke en competitieve spel. De teams in de competitie zijn een mix van binnenlandse en buitenlandse spelers, waardoor een hoog niveau van basketbal wordt gegarandeerd. De competitie wordt ook gevolgd door een aanzienlijk aantal fans, waardoor het een populaire sport is in Slowakije.
